When the moment comes to plan a corporate dinner that actually makes an impression, the venue matters just as much as the guest list. A generic hotel ballroom or a cookie-cutter chain restaurant rarely sparks the kind of conversations that strengthen client relationships or reward a hardworking team. What you need is a space with character, a kitchen with ambition, and a staff that understands how to make business feel like pleasure. Tartan of Redlands checks all three boxes with room to spare.

A Setting That Does Half the Work for You

Tucked into the heart of downtown Redlands, Tartan brings together the warmth of a neighborhood gathering place with the polish of a destination restaurant. The interior leans into rich textures, moody lighting, and thoughtful details that feel curated rather than staged. Your guests walk in and immediately sense that someone cared about this room. That first impression sets the tone for everything that follows, whether you are welcoming a visiting executive, celebrating a quarterly milestone, or closing the chapter on a long negotiation.

The atmosphere strikes a balance that is surprisingly hard to find. It is refined enough for serious conversation yet relaxed enough that nobody feels like they are performing. For corporate hosts, that middle ground is gold.

Menus Built Around Real Hospitality

The kitchen at Tartan takes pride in seasonal, ingredient-forward cooking with a Scottish-inspired sensibility woven throughout. Rather than defaulting to tired banquet standards, the culinary team works with you to shape a menu that reflects your group, your budget, and any dietary needs in the room. Plated dinners, family-style spreads, and curated tasting courses are all on the table, and the team is refreshingly honest about what works best for different group sizes.

Pairings are another area where Tartan shines. The beverage program features a deep whisky selection alongside a carefully chosen wine list and inventive cocktails. A welcome dram or a signature cocktail greeting guests at the door is a small touch that gets remembered long after the meeting notes are filed away.

Private Dining Options That Fit the Occasion

One of the practical advantages of choosing Tartan is flexibility in how you use the space. Intimate gatherings for a handful of key clients can be hosted in a quieter corner, while larger team dinners and full buyouts are also accommodated. The staff will walk you through layout options, audiovisual considerations for brief remarks or presentations, and timing logistics so the evening flows without those awkward lulls that derail corporate events.

If you need to run a short presentation between courses or hand out recognition awards during dessert, the team plans around it rather than treating it as an inconvenience.

Service That Understands the Assignment

Corporate dinners carry a different weight than a casual night out. Clients are being courted, employees are being thanked, and reputations are quietly on the line. The service team at Tartan approaches these evenings with attentiveness and discretion. Glasses stay filled without interruption, courses arrive with good pacing, and requests are handled quickly and quietly. Hosts are free to focus on the people at the table rather than troubleshooting logistics.

Why Redlands Works in Your Favor

Choosing Redlands as your venue location has its own strategic perks. The downtown area offers walkable charm, easy parking, and a pleasant post-dinner atmosphere for guests who want to extend the evening. For out-of-town attendees, it feels like a genuine destination rather than another interchangeable stretch of freeway exits. That sense of place becomes part of the hospitality you are offering.

Planning Your Event

Booking a corporate dinner at Tartan is straightforward. Reaching out early gives you the widest selection of dates and the most time to collaborate on menu details, but the team is also skilled at pulling together thoughtful events on shorter timelines when business demands move fast. Be ready to share your headcount range, any dietary considerations, your preferred arrival and departure window, and whether you want the evening to lean formal or more convivial.

Final Thoughts

A well-hosted corporate dinner does more than feed people. It signals that you value the relationships at the table, that you pay attention to details, and that you know how to create space for the conversations that actually move business forward. Tartan of Redlands offers the setting, the cuisine, and the service to turn a routine obligation into an evening your guests will reference for months. The next time a dinner lands on your calendar, consider making Tartan the answer.

About Tartan of Redlands

Tartan of Redlands has been a treasured part of the local dining scene since first opening its doors on April 15, 1964, earning a reputation for hearty steakhouse fare served in a warm, neighborhood-oriented atmosphere. The restaurant was the shared vision of the Ctoteau brothers—Velmer, Al, and Art—who set out with a straightforward ambition: to serve great food backed by genuinely attentive service.

The keys have passed between stewards over the decades, but the original character of the place has never wavered. Larry Westin came aboard alongside the Ctoteau family and was an influential figure in the restaurant’s operation for a long stretch of years. Following his death in 2003, his son Larry Westin Jr. stepped into the role and continued the family’s work until 2015. That year, Jeff and Lisa Salamon assumed ownership and have been guiding Tartan ever since.

Jeff Salamon, a Boston native and Marine Corps veteran, carries forward the restaurant’s heritage by holding fast to the values that built it—loyalty, tradition, and a genuine investment in community.

The menu celebrates the classics guests have come to expect from a proper steakhouse, anchored by the famous Saturday prime rib, premium cuts of steak, and the house specialty Redlands Tartan Burger. A full bar rounds out the experience and adds another layer to the restaurant’s easygoing appeal.

Affectionately dubbed the “Cheers of Redlands,” Tartan has earned its following thanks to an unhurried atmosphere, thoughtful service, and regulars who keep coming back. With seating available both inside and out on the patio, it remains a year-round favorite among locals and visitors alike.
